For the same type and capacity between the two power supply automatic conversion, such as two public power grid, two generator sets such as neutral line does not switch or common neutral line power can be used 3 poles; 4 poles are used for automatic conversion between power supplies of different systems and capacities.

Two position: ATS switch contact has only two working positions (normal power supply and standby power supply), one action in place, fast conversion time

Three position: ATS switch contact has three working positions (normal power supply and standby power supply, zero position), zero position switch main contact is in neutral, the main role when the high load is high reactance or large motor load, in order to avoid the impact of current for temporary stay.

The ATS is suitable for the automatic conversion of the primary power supply and the standby power supply in the power supply and distribution system of primary and secondary loads. To meet the requirements of the distribution system, the primary and secondary load distribution system should adopt the automatic mutual transfer of the two power supply ends. The ATS is usually installed at the incoming line side of the distribution box of the last stage of the distribution system. When the power supply needs to be disconnected for maintenance, testing and inspection of equipment, isolation appliances should be set up

The CB class ATS body implements the thermal and magnetic protection of the circuit breaker itself. The main contact can be switched on and used for segmental short-circuit current. The front end can only be set with isolation appliances or isolation switches, without setting short-circuit protection appliances.

The PC-class ATS has only the power conversion function but no short circuit or overload protection function. Therefore, the front end of the PC-class ATS must meet isolation requirements for short circuit protection.

The time of the conversion process from the moment of the final extinguishment of the arc of each phase to the closing of another power source by the main contact is measured, including the time delay introduced specially. General users should pay attention to "total action time" or "conversion action time" to meet the requirements of different power distribution systems.

The total operation time of two-position PC ATSE is generally 50 ~ 250ms.

The total operation time of three-position PC ATSE is generally 350 ~ 600ms;

The total operation time of CB ATSE is generally 2000-3000ms
